The HC100 Wristband Printer
Zebra’s reliable HC100 Patient I.D. Solution makes wristband printing easier and more cost-effective than laser solutions. With the HC100, your hospital staff can produce and attach a long lasting, antimicrobial-coated thermal wristband in just two steps. No wasted time with the cumbersome wristband assembly many laser solutions require. No jammed laser printers. No toner. No ribbon. It’s that simple.
Easy-to-load cartridges containing the industry’s only antimicrobial-coated wristbands—Zebra’s Z-Band® wristbands.- Pop the wristband cartridge into the HC100 printer—print individual wristbands on demand.
- The HC100 printer detects wristband size—adult, pediatric, infant—and automatically calibrates its settings for optimal print quality.

Z-Band Antimicrobial Wristbands
Zebra Z-Band wristbands are the only antimicrobial-coated wristband on the market. And, unlike laser printers and wristbands, Zebra’s direct thermal printers and Z-Band wristbands produce durable, long-lasting bar codes.
Available with a pressure-sensitive pull tab or a clip closure- Easy to use: print and secure the wristband within seconds
- Highly durable: they’re specially coated to resist water, soaps, foams, alcohol, chemicals and other common solvents found in a healthcare environment
Z-Band additionally meets the patient I.D. guidelines of the American Hospital Association, the Joint Commission and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Zebra wristbands are safe for use during MRI Procedures.
Patients wearing Zebra Z-Band wristbands do not need to have their wristband removed during an MRI, helping to improve patient safety and reducing costs for the hospital. Patients have been severely injured during an MRI procedure due to the metallic components of the toner on their laser wristband. Zebra Z-bands are printed using a direct thermal printer as opposed to a laser printer. There are no metals in Zebra wristbands or wristband clips.
Zebra's Z-Band wristbands were tested by an independent MRI testing company and were determined “MR-Safe” (MR Safe—an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments) according to the terminology specified in the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International, Designation: F2503-08: Standard Practice for Marking Medical Devices and Other Items for Safety in the Magnetic Resonance Environment.
